Pandit Subbaraya Shastri

Let us now dig deeper into the background of the mysctic Pandit Subbaraya Shastri of Anekal,Bangalore.A lot of information is gathered from various sources on the net and I dont know whether it is real or not,but will confirm it by visiting Anekal personally.

According to some sources, he was born in Hosur Taluk. He was orphaned at a young age and was poor and diseased. Then he met a great scholar in Kolar District in Karnataka, which he called as Guruji Maharaj. He became his disciple and learnt the vedas and other ancient scriptures under his guidance.

It is known that shastriji, used to dictate the information while he was in trance,by very advanced yogic meditation. And somebody used to copy down the sanskrit verses spoken by him.

Shastriji has contributed many literary works.Let us see some of them-

1.A magazine named "Bhowthika Kalaa Nidhi" (Treasure house of Sciences) by Mr.B.Suryanarain Rao in 1885 contained some knowledge of Shastriji.

Vymaanika Shastra or "The Science of Aeronautics"

The most famous document that is used by many people to support the idea of ancient Indian flying machines is the "VYMAANIKA SHASTRA" written by Pandit Subbaraya Shastri of Anekal,Bangalore, which was published by G.R. Josyer,Director of International Academy of Sanskrit Research. It is readily available on many websites, after the digital copy of the book was published by John Bruno Hare on his website Sacred Internet Archive. This book is also used by many "Ancient Aliens" show authors in their books like "Chariots of the Gods", "Ancient India and Atlantis" etc.

Now the geniuneness of the book is unfortunately unknown,as all the people mentioned above are long dead. And all the google searches on these topics result to a few UFO conspiracy websites, and then there's a dead end.And also the Joyser's academy is nowhere to be found on the Internet.

So what about the book? Is it real? Should we waste our time to read and understand it or just consider it another early UFO hocus-pocus?

As of now, atleast for the sake of filling up this blog,I will consider it of some value and begin my further research on it.
The First Page of the Book
